Mother

I thought of you and closed my eyes
And prayed to God today
I asked "What makes a Mother?"
And I know I heard Him say."

A Mother has a baby"
This we know is true"
But God can you be a Mother,
When your baby's not with you?"

"Yes, you can," He replied
With confidence in His voice"
I give many women babies,
When they leave is not their choice.

Some I send for a lifetime,
And others for the day.
And some I send to feel your womb,
But there's no need to stay."

"I just don't understand this God
I want my baby to be here."
He took a deep breath andcleared His throat,
And then I saw the tear.

"I wish I could show you,
What your child is doing today.
If you could see your child's smile,
With all the other children and say...

'We go to Earth to learn our lessons,
Of love and life and fear.
My Mommy loved me oh so much,
I got to come straight here.

I feel so lucky to have a Mom,
Who had so much love for me.
I learned my lessons very quickly,
My Mommy set me free.

I miss my Mommy oh so much,
But I visit her every day.
When she goes to sleep,
On her pillow's where I lay

I stroke her hair and kiss her cheek,
And whisper in her ear.
Mommy don't be sad today,
I'm your baby and I'm here.'

"So you see my dear sweet ones,
your children are okay.
Your babies are born here in My home,
And this is where they'll stay.

They'll wait for you with Me,
Until your lesson's through.
And on the day that you come home
they'll be at the gates for you.

So now you see what makes a Mother,
It's the feeling in your heart
it's the love you had so much of
Right from the very start."

I was reading a blog of a couple who lost a little girl in a drowing accident and someone posted this poem and it just touched my heart and brought so many tears to my eyes. I was thinking on Sunday at church, that if Kamdyn were still with us it would have been her first time to go to nursery. I am always thinking about what she would have been like. Easton just cried the first two months he had to go to nursery, would she have done that too or would she have just walked right in and not looked back. We only got a few short weeks to get to know Kamdyn and so it is hard to wonder what she would be like. It is amazing being a Mom, it is amazing how you can instantly love someone the second you hold them or see them for the first time. It is amazing how much you can feel our Heavenly Fathers love when you experience trials that you can't face on your own. I love this poem and I love that I have my own little angel who is also waiting for the day that we can all be reunited as a family.

That is a great poem, thank you for sharing it. I like how it mentions we all have lessons to learn and that when we are through we will then join our family in heaven. I think it is difficult to go through trials, but if we can look at them as lessons it can help us try to see what we are to learn from the trials that we face. I look up to you Callee, and you are one of the best mothers that I know and I love that my Dylan was able to spend time in your home as a young one.

You are such a great mother and a very strong one at that. You have such a big heart, and you have so much love to share. Just think one day you will get to share all that love with Kamdyn. Your the best. Love you
