At my 36 week appointment, my blood pressure was elevated so my doctor sent me for an ultrasound to see how the baby was doing. The baby measured 6 weeks behind where it should be and I was measuring small as well. I had to do nonstress tests twice a week with a perinatologist (no clue how to spell that) and then weekly ultrasounds. My doctor decided to induce me on March 27th.
By the time I got hooked and ready to go it was about 8:45 or 9:00 and then my doctor broke my water around 9:30. My parents had to pick up Easton from school and so they got there around 12:30, right when I was getting an epidural. At 1:00 I was a 5 and a +2 so we sent our family off to get some lunch. The nurse came in after my doctor checked me and did some charting and then moved the heart rate monitor because the baby moved off. She was explaining that she was going to be in another patients room but would have my screen up so she could keep an eye on me. As she was walking out of my room, she stopped and turned around and said that she had to move the heart monitor down a lot and so she thinks she needs to check me again. She checked me and I was 10 and -2. I went from a 5 to a 10 in about 15 minutes! She had me do a trial push and then told me to lay on the bed and not to move until my doctor got there because this baby was ready.
Since everything went so fast, my poor nurse had nothing ready for the delivery. She was running around trying to get everything set up and trying to get a hold of my doctor. After two little pushes, Cy was here! My doctor was expecting a little tiny baby so we were pleasantly suprised when he was 6 pounds 15 ounces (which is tiny for our babies) and 19 inches long.
It took two days after Cy was born before we even heard him cry for the first time. He is such an easy going little baby and perfectly content where ever he is. He is a snuggler too, something I have always wanted and never had so we just snuggle all day long. I am loving having all my boys and love knowing that there is a cute little angel waiting for me someday. We are truly blessed.
